Mera Chopra Biography

Meera Chopra is an actress who is better known as Nila in the Tamil Film Industry.

EARLY LIFE

Meera Chopra was born in Delhi, India on 8th July 1981. Her parents are Sudesh and Neelam. She has two siblings - Vikram and Timsy.

After studying at the Presentation Convent Scholl, New delhi, Chopra went on to get a degree from Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw, Michigan, U.S.A.

She worked in an advertising firm in New York for a few years and then worked with NDTV, New Delhi for sometime. Meera proved herself as an actress after getting offers from the South Indian film industry.

CAREER

Director S.J.Suryah discovered the actress and changed her name to Nila which means Moon in Tamil.

After modelling, Meera made her debut in S.J. Suryah's Anbe Aaruyire (2006). The success of this movie brought her a lot of popularity and recognition. In the Tamil movie Kaalai (2008) she had a comeo appearance. It was an action film by Tharun Gopi starring Silambarasan in the lead role.

The actress tried her luck in Telugu movies and could successfully make a mark there as well. She started with the Telugu movie Bangaram (2006) with Pawan Kalyan and Reema Sen. Meera's performance in the Telugu movie Vaana (2008), a love story, was praised. She has acted in a Kannada movie Arjun (2008) opposite Darshan Tugudeep.

Jaganmohini (2009) is one of her latest releases. Raja and Namita are her co-stars in this movie. She is currently working on the movies, Maaro and Killadi.
